The Atlanta Port of Spain Sister City Committee

The international non-profit organization the "Atlanta Sister City Commission" was established with the intention of forming "friendship links between the Atlanta community and similar jurisdictions in other countries so that citizens can express goodwill and common desire for friendship and the development of understanding through a variety of mutually beneficial programs." (Letter to TT Consulate) The relationship between Atlanta and Port of Spain began as a people to people exchange between the two cities in 1986. Subsequently, a Sister City relationship was established in a Resolution by Council members and approved in 1987. The purpose of the committee is to develop, promote, and maintain mutually beneficial relationships between both cities, through educational, cultural, civic and economic activities.  (Read More)
